Bog Post #10

I can see my self using Data Collection in school for fun activities relating to class activities that day, like best project and so on. I think this will be really cool for my students as well because they will have the opportunity to voice their opinion about things and they will think they actually have a voice. If i were to use it in second grade after a science fair project, I would allow students to vote for a most creative, best all around, and best looking. And also having students be able to right comments and what else they thought about the projects. Using excel I can admit it was a little difficult but I got to explain it to a friend who missed class and I found myself understanding it better now that I taught another person.
When reviewing blogs go my classmates I noticed how opinionated some people are and that their opinions actually do mean something. I thought that the blogs were going to be very stupid and I hate to admit it but I was actually dreading having to make a blog every week and have to comment on others peoples. After the first couple times I began to like it that I got to voice my opinion on what other people were thinking about what we were learning and the fact that i could respond to my classmates and agree or disagree with what they had to say about something really gives this class the opportunity to matter. I can definitely say that I did learn a few things from my classmates' blogs, maybe not information that I will use in the future but information that I will always remember about people.
I think the next technology-related skill that I would like to learn next would have to be keynote. I never really understood it and I always see myself just using it to paste things into, I really do think that this application has more to offer and I would really like to be able to be given the opportunity to learn all that it does have to offer. I feel like keynote is just another version of powerpoint and if that is the case than why have both, what does one have that the other doesn't? These are all questions that I would like the answer to but I don't, so I may or may not take it into my own hands and learn all about it myself.
I see myself using almost every technology that I was taught in class in my future classroom except a few that I don't think would be for elementary level students. I will be using prezi as much as possible just because its super cute and I can keep my students entertained! I also will be using powerpoint as much as possible along with weebly to make a class website. I am really happy that I got to use this class to educate myself with all their is to offer in the world of technology!

Blog Post #9

The flipped classroom idea to me isn't necessarily  the best solution to saving time in classrooms. I get that the purpose of this is to save time in the classroom and have more time for reviewing. I just am not a huge fan of the whole learning yourself. The whole point of a teacher is to be there with the class teaching, not sending students home to listen to your voice to just understand what you are saying. The students need to be engaged with the teacher and other students asking questions to make sure they understand what they are learning. The instructional design in chapter 10 of the book goes into great detail of how good it is for students to be educated in technology. I agree with this but I also think that the basics of learning is also still great! This video is super cute not to mention very educational for kindergarten and first grade! (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RaZbq8hXRVI)

WeVideo looks very interesting to use with my future students, it is a web-bases video editing tool that can turn a video project into a a creative and easy project. This toll can allow the content to automatically save to the storage cloud and it can also link to other storage places like Google drive. The tool offers the students to work together from home or where ever they may be to simply sign into the website on their computers and narrative a video for a project or just for fun. There are many different effects and themes that may make a project better from the nest one. It is similar to a PowerPoint but just different and more unique options to create, strictly for video content, with recording image and/or voice. (https://www.wevideo.com)
I found working on this assignment was actually super time consuming yet really fun, because I was so happy with the finished project. I now how to make a game for PowerPoint and make it interactive and fun for my students. I didn't know how many things were actually available on PowerPoint! I believe I worked hard with my partner to our best ability and I can't say that I need to improve anything because I am extremely happy with the outcome of how out overall project looks!

http://edition.cnn.com/TECH/specials/make-create-innovate/3d-printing/

The 3-D printer is becoming more popular than ever, not only is it super cool but it is going to help further students education and many different things. Students will be extremely intrigued by the simple fact that a printer is printing something three dimensional, how often will they be able to see this, so we can teach students all that they need to know about this. Also the things that this printer will print can help many different types of students, it can help a lot with younger kids and understanding certain things and also with blind students, you can make brail on the 3-D printer. Students will a intellectual disability might also find these objects that are printed very helpful with sensory and motor skills

The digital divide that is the gap of people who and do not have access to technology. I believe that I am on the side of student A because I have the access to internet and I have the tools to use different types of programs and computers. I can see it affecting my future classroom by students when it comes to education and homework in the classroom, if I were to assign something to my students and not all students have access to a computer or internet at home. I think that I will try my very best to work with these students, because I still want technology to be very involved in my teaching process, regardless of if its at home or the library or in the classroom. I will work my best to accommodate all of my students in any situation that they may come faced with.

Working on powerpoint I can admit I thought it was going to be very easy but it was quite difficult figuring things out and nothing completely knowing what I was doing at every moment. I found myself constantly googling how to do this or asking a friends what to do. The only thing I didn't like was how tedious the work was, every little thing that had to be done I hated it. Also, I recored all of my voices and saved and than the directions told me to turn it into a Powerpoint presentation Show, however the direction did not tell me that it needed to be in pptx. Therefore I lost all of my voice audios and had to redo them because converted my powerpoint into the wrong thing. I will most likely be using powerpoint presentation in the future with my students however I don't see myself using the voice overs at all.

ILP “Design” – Prezzi

Working with Prezzi I realized how easy it was to make and I was very excited to post this because it was so much fun to make! I hope that in future years to come I will be able to use this website in my classroom! I have only used Prezzi a couple times in school it wasn't really that big in my high school or middle school. I was able to keep it simple and get the information that I needed to share in quick and easy. I uploaded many pictures for my students to see and click on and actually see a close up of all this information. For the students to actually see an image of what they are learning about. I will definitely be using this in the future for my classroom.

Blog Post #7

When making a powerpoint when it comes to using each level of Blooms Taxonomy I would go into great detail. For example, if I was creating a powerpoint for science for first graders and we are learning about space and the solar system. I would start by creating an easy outline for all the students to get familiar with than begin to evaluate each item like each planet in detail and let them know fun facts about it. When analyzing is i was compare how certain planets are similar to certain objects like how pluto was the tinniest planet and say it would be a ping pong ball and earth would be a tennis ball and than saturn would be a basketball. When applying the information I would ask what would happen if you went onto a planet without a space suit and why you couldn't go there without a suit. When it comes to understanding I would show graphic pictures of everything we were learning about and describe each planet in great detail. To get my students to remember all the facts and information I will make fun things to remember so when they think of pluto they will think baby. I want the students to have fun while learning and actually be able to retain the information.

Personally I like adaptive technologies just because some kids may not be as verbal as others and may find technology easier to work with and learn from. Some may argue that it takes away from the teacher but ultimately the point of being a teacher is to get your student to actually learn, and I think regardless of how you do this as long as you can achieve it than you will be successful and so will the student. Chapter 4 of the book talks about how students with intellectual disabilities may like to use more computer and iPad based technology and touch screen type devices. I believe that the child should make the decision to use this and if they think that it will keep them focused and learning what they should be learning than why not let them use it.
I really enjoyed making the the website and it was super easy to use, however I did a tutorial before I actually made my presentation and I believe that helped me a lot more than I was expecting. I wish that this website had more options to make graphics more interactive with the viewers. In the future I will be using this design set because it will be super helpful for myself and my students!
